Ms. Edwards received her B.A., summa cum laude, in history from
the University of Central Oklahoma in 1975. She attended Oxford
University and the University of Oklahoma College of Law receiving her J.
D. from the latter in 1979. While attending law school, she was a
member of Phi Delta Phi and was awarded the Alfred P. Murrah Award for the
outstanding student in Wills and Trusts and the Jessup Moot Court Award.
After graduating from law school, Ms. Edwards served as legal counsel to
the State Legislative Counsel and was an estate and gift tax attorney for
the Internal Revenue Service. She was also recognized as an
Outstanding Young Women of America in 1983. She has served as an
adjunct professor of taxation and sports law at the Oklahoma City
University School of Law presenting Federal Estate and Gift Taxation and
Sports Law. In addition to serving as an adjunct professor, Ms.
Edwards has also been a guest lecturer in the areas of elder law, estate
planning, estate taxation, probate, property, trust law and sports law for
the Oklahoma Bar Association, the Oklahoma County Bar Association and many
business, schools, charitable and senior citizen organizations. Ms.
Edwards is admitted to practice before the United States Tax Court, the
United States Federal District Court, the Supreme Court for the State of
Oklahoma and the United States Treasury, Internal Revenue Service.
She is a member of the American Bar Association, the Oklahoma Bar
Association, the Oklahoma County Bar Association, and the National
Association of Elder Lawyers. In addition to her private practice,
Ms. Edwards currently serves as Assistant General Counsel of THE OKLAHOMA
STORM BASKETBALL CLUB and focuses her practice in the areas of federal and
state taxation, estate and gift taxation, estate planning, probate,
trusts, elder law and sports law.
